Delivering Better Education For Bayswater

03 March 2022

The Andrews Labor Government is delivering a plan to transform the future of education in Bayswater, supporting local schools to collaborate and deliver better educational opportunities for students in the outer eastern suburb.

Minister for Education James Merlino and Member for Bayswater Jackson Taylor today launched the Bayswater Education Plan, which will support Bayswater Secondary College, Bayswater Primary School, Bayswater North Primary School, Bayswater South Primary School, and Bayswater West Primary School to co-develop educational opportunities that suit the community.

Built on consultation with school staff, local community and the students themselves, the plan will see the five local schools collaborate to give students better opportunities, more choice and strong links to local industry and local tertiary education providers to ensure they are supported to leave school prepared for their next challenge.

The plan will deliver a more seamless education experience for students across the five school communities, pooling their expertise and resources to make sure all Bayswater students can succeed, no matter what they choose.

The Labor Government has invested $500,000 in the Bayswater Education Plan through the Infrastructure Planning and Acceleration Fund, on top of more than $12.4 million invested in Bayswater Secondary College in the Victorian Budget 2020/21.
