The Andrews Labor Government today confirmed that leading racing administrator Dayle Brown has been appointed chief executive of Harness Racing Victoria (HRV).
Minister for Racing Martin Pakula welcomed the appointment of Mr Brown, who has built a national reputation in more than two decades of working in executive roles across the racing industry.
Mr Brown served as General Manager of Integrity Services at Racing Victoria for a decade before leaving that post in 2017. In that time Mr Brown led significant reforms and was widely lauded for his performance.
The new appointment marks a return home in one way, with Mr Brown having worked at HRV as Manager of Integrity Services earlier in his career.
Harness racing is an important industry in Victoria, generating $600 million for the economy annually and sustaining more than 4,300 full-time-equivalent jobs.
The industry comprises 48 clubs with racing conducted at 28 tracks. There were 439 harness race meetings held across the state last financial year.
