A Cracking Time At Caulfield Easter Cup

29 March 2018

Racegoers are set to flock to the Caulfield Racecourse this Saturday, 31 March, for the 2018 Easter Cup.

The Andrews Labor Government is providing more than $38,000 to support the event through the Victorian Racing Industry Fund Raceday Attraction Program. The Melbourne Racing Club is contributing almost $50,000.

Proceeds from the $5 entry fee will be donated to Camp Quality to help support children living with cancer. More than $5,600 was raised for the organisation last year.

The event will include a special visit from the Easter Bunny and Easter egg hunts will be held on the lawn throughout the day.

An array of free family-friendly activities will be on offer, including pony rides, a jumping castle, inflatable maze, arts and crafts, a petting zoo and face painting.

Racegoers will also be entertained trackside with music performances from a DJ, while a garden party area will feature gourmet food and lawn games.

Since 2014, the Labor Government has contributed more than $993,000 for three infrastructure projects and 10 thoroughbred events at Caulfield Racecourse.

The racing industry in metropolitan Melbourne generates more than $1.5 billion for the Victorian economy and helps sustain more than 13,590 full-time jobs locally.
