Climate Change Review Submissions Now Open

07 July 2015

The Andrews Labor Government is seeking input from all Victorians as part of its review of the State’s Climate Change Act 2010.

The review, promised before the election, is a key part of positioning Victoria as a leader on climate change – examining how we can invest in the jobs of the future and how we adapt to its impacts, managing the risks and reduce emissions.

The Labor Government has appointed an Independent Review Committee to conduct the review, which includes a public submission process.

The Committee chaired by Mr Martijn Wilder AM and including members Anna Skarbek and Professor Rosemary Lyster is encouraging business, the non-government sector and community members to have their say in helping shape the review’s findings.

Submissions will be used to help strengthen the Act to ensure it meets the State’s future needs and provides a strong foundation to position Victoria as a leader and model for other governments in tackling climate change.

Public submissions open this week can be made online at External Link until Sunday 2 August.
