Champions Of Landcare Awarded With A New Online Home

23 September 2016

Australia’s dedicated Landcare groups were recognised at the 2016 National Landcare Conference and Awards held in Melbourne last night.

The conference returned to Melbourne in 2016 in recognition of the upcoming 30 Year anniversary of Landcare in Victoria.

Attending the Awards gala alongside over 600 guests, Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change Lily D’Ambrosio presented a Coastcare award and helped celebrate the finalists.

Ms D’Ambrosio also announced the new Victorian Landcare website, a revamped and improved home for Victoria’s Landcare network to improve the communication tools available to Landcarers.

The new website, developed in consultation with local Landcarers, will provide simple tools to engage, access and share information between Landcare groups across Victoria.

The Andrews Labor Government is a proud supporter of Landcare, this year providing $18 million of new funding over four years to the Victorian Landcare Program, taking the total investment to almost $40 million.
