14 July 2016

Students in Yarram are a step closer to having the facilities they deserve thanks to the Andrews Labor Government’s investment in local schools.

Minister for Education James Merlino today visited Yarram Primary School to meet staff and students, and discuss plans to upgrade the schools.

The Labor Government invested a record $1.1 billion to build new schools and upgrade classrooms across the state in the Victorian Budget 2016/17, including $200 million to better maintain existing school facilities.

Yarram Primary School received $4 million to upgrade its classrooms, library, administration areas and toilets.

Architects MSM & Associates have been appointed to design the project, with construction expected to get underway in August.

The Labor Government is building the Education State in Yarram so that every local student gets the opportunity for a great education and every community has access to a great school.
