Building A Case For Regional Tourism Projects

22 December 2015

The Minister for Regional Development Jaala Pulford and Minister for Tourism and Major Events John Eren have announced a new initiative dedicated to advancing key regional tourism infrastructure projects in partnership with Regional Tourism Boards (RTBs).

In launching Victoria’s Regional Statement in November, the Andrews Labor Government committed to identifying and actively facilitating 10 iconic regional tourism projects.

The new grant program will help support the development of new plans and business cases for these and other significant tourism infrastructure and experiences that have been identified by RTBs across the state, such as cycling, visitor interpretation and Aboriginal heritage opportunities.

The $1.8 million package is funded through the Regional Jobs and Infrastructure Fund and is being jointly developed by Regional Development Victoria and Tourism Victoria.
