TAFE students in Wellington Shire are a step closer to having the state-of-the-art new TAFE.

Minister for Training and Skills Gayle Tierney today announced the appointment of McCorkell Constructions as the builder for the new $25 million Port of Sale campus of TAFE Gippsland.

The campus will deliver education and training facilities for a range of industry and academic disciplines that will meet local industry and community needs and the best practice training for students across the region.

The development will provide purpose-built facilities for a variety of courses including health and social services, early childhood, carpentry, engineering and automotive trade.

The new TAFE campus has been designed by Victorian architects GHD Woodhead Architecture. Construction begins this December and is expected to be completed in 2021, with the campus expected to open in early 2022.

Since 2015, the Andrews Labor Government has invested more than $1.7 billion in infrastructure to rebuild our TAFE system.
