Broadford Kinder Transformed

14 May 2015

Minister for Families and Children, Jenny Mikakos, today joined Member for Northern Victoria, Jaclyn Symes, to open the Mt Piper kinder extension in Broadford.

The $648,000 upgrade has enabled the Mt Piper facility to more than double the number of four-year old kindergarten places on offer, and introduce a three-year old kinder program that is planned to start in term three.

The Andrews Labor Government’s first Budget last week announced a $50 million investment in the early childhood sector through the building and upgrading of kindergartens and children’s centres.

Infrastructure projects such as these ensure local children’s services have the space and flexibility they need to deliver 15 hours of kindergarten alongside a range of other vital early years programs.
