Labor is expanding access to world-class TAFE training facilities in Melbourne’s north-west.
Construction is now underway at Kangan Institute’s new TAFE campus in Sunbury.
The campus will open in 2028 and provide training opportunities for in-demand jobs like education support.
Students can also gain qualifications for roles like education support, that will open pathways to jobs or further study.
Hume City Council is one of Australia’s fastest growing communities, and locals can seize those job opportunities thanks to this TAFE.
The new campus will hold up to 200 students at once in a vibrant learning environment, with high-tech equipment and technologies.
Labor has invested $25 million into this campus through the $170 million Building Better TAFE Fund.
This is on top of the new $55 million campus in Melton and the $36 million Centre of Excellence in Disability Inclusion at The Gordon TAFE in Geelong.
Only Labor will continue to invest in students to have the best training facilities, close to home.
Free TAFE has benefited more than 252,000 students in Victoria of which more than 62,100 were unemployed.
Labor has saved students $871 million in tuition fees, putting on average $3,390 back in their pockets.
The program has supported more than 145,400 women and over 76,100 people from culturally or linguistically diverse backgrounds.
The Liberals sacked more than 2,000 TAFE teachers, shut 22 TAFE campuses and stripped $1 billion from TAFEs.

Labor will always back Free TAFE and keep investing in quality TAFE facilities.
