Brand New School Facilities For Bell Primary School

31 October 2017

Students at Bell Primary School will soon enjoy brand new school facilities, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Minister for Education James Merlino and Member for Northern Metropolitan Region Jenny Mikakos today visited Bell Primary School to announce $2 million in funding to deliver the first stage of building works to modernise the school and improve its infrastructure.

This funding will also allow the school to finalise planning and detailed documentation of future stages.

The school’s self-funded master plan has already identified a number of required upgrades including new classrooms, sports facilities and toilets.

The school will now meet with the Victorian School Building Authority next week to review its existing master plan and identify next steps. An architect will be appointed before the end of the year.

The project is part of a $2.5 billion investment over three years to build the Education State, giving every student access to a great local school with a great education.

Victoria’s school building boom has delivered more than 1,000 school upgrades and 56 new school projects across the state, supporting almost 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians.

The Labor Government has invested $5 million to upgrade the Croxton School, $4.5 million to upgrade Northcote High School, $3.15 million to upgrade Northcote Primary School, $5 million to upgrade Thornbury High School and funding for a new school in Alphington.
