Boost For Nu-Edge Solutions Means More Jobs In Mildura

21 August 2015

The Andrews Labor Government has secured a $3.26 million investment in a new liquid fertiliser manufacturing facility in Koorlong, near Mildura that will introduce new fertiliser technology to the region and create 25 local jobs.

Minister for Regional Development Jaala Pulford today visited Nu-Edge Solutions Australia to announce $200,000 in funding support and to tour the $3.26 million facility, which opened earlier this month.

Based at Innisfail, North Queensland, Nu-Edge Solutions Australia develops and makes a range of plant nutrition products such as liquid fertilisers.

The company also supplies agronomy services such as soil and foliar analysis, nutrient budgeting, crop audits and customising of fertiliser mixtures/blends.

In 2013, Nu-Edge Solutions was invited by several horticulturalists in the Sunraysia region to do commercial agronomic field trials on several different crops including nuts and viticulture.

Extensive data collection and successful trial results helped increase general interest in Nu-Edge’s products with other horticultural businesses and broad acre farmers in the Sunraysia region, leading to the decision, with the support of the Labor Government, to invest in a liquid fertiliser manufacturing facility in the Mildura region.

The project included investment in building and site development, and plant and equipment for fertiliser manufacturing and handling.

The 25 new jobs will be created over three years and will comprise ten in manufacturing, four in logistics, five in sales and six in managerial, office and technical roles.
