Better Learning Facilities For Forest Street Primary School

31 January 2023

Primary school students in Wendouree can look forward to brand new learning facilities, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Minister for Education Natalie Hutchins today announced Forest Street Primary School will be improved, with local builder Nicholson Construction appointed to carry out the works.

The project includes modernising Block A and amenities in the BER Building to benefit both students and staff.

The school received $5.57 million in the Victorian Budget 2021/22 for the works to take place, as well as a further $279,251 in 2022.

The project is scheduled for completion in 2024.

Since 2014, the Labor Government has invested $12.8 billion in building new schools and more than 1,850 school upgrades, creating around 17,400 jobs in construction and associated industries.

The Government is ahead of schedule in opening 100 new schools by 2026, with 75 new schools opening between 2019 and 2024 – ensuring every student can access a great local school and a quality education no matter where they live.
