Ballarat’s C.E Brown Reserve was officially opened last night in a landmark moment for grassroots local netballers, footy players and athletes who use the reserve year round.
Minister for Regional Development Jaala Pulord was joined by Member for Wendouree Sharon Knight in officially opening the redeveloped C.E. Brown Reserve, home of the Wendouree Football and Netball Club, Wendouree Cricket Club and the Wendouree Athletics Club.
The project has delivered crucial upgrades to football and umpiring facilities, seen the construction of netball change rooms, indoor training facilities, accessible toilets, storage for equipment, and refitting of existing kitchen and bar areas.
It’s set to increase community participation in local sport and provide access to a broader range of user groups that may use the facilities for social or community events.
The Andrews Labor Government is proud to provide $38.476 million towards the Eureka Precinct redevelopment, which includes upgrading Eureka Stadium, the Wendouree Sports and Events Centre, and the Ballarat Showgrounds along with C.E. Brown Reserve.
Through the Labor Government’s $500 million Regional Jobs and Infrastructure Fund, the Government is supporting projects like C.E. Brown Reserve to make regional Victoria a better place to live, work and visit and play sport.
