Badge Of Approval For New WorkSafe Inspectors

08 May 2015

Twenty new inspectors have today joined the ranks of WorkSafe Victoria after graduating from an intensive training and coaching program.

The graduates, who will be assigned to locations in Melbourne and across regional Victoria, will take up positions within WorkSafe’s health and safety and return to work inspectorates.

Minister for Finance, Robin Scott, and WorkSafe Acting Chief Executive, Clare Amies, presented each graduate with a certificate of appointment and their inspector badge at a ceremony attended by work colleagues, friends and family this morning.

The graduates will join a team of WorkSafe inspectors who conduct more than 40,000 visits to Victorian workplaces each year to ensure employers comply with their health and safety, and return to work obligations.

Another inspector intake will be conducted in the next few months, further boosting WorkSafe’s ability to regulate workplace safety and support injured workers returning to safe and productive work. A further two inspector intakes are planned in 2016.
