Authority Chair To Continue The Game Plan

Minister for Agriculture Jaala Pulford has announced the extension of Brian Hine as Chair of the Game Management Authority (GMA).

Mr Hine has over 35 years of experience in the public sector that spans land management, health and human services, local government and emergency services.

Mr Hine’s reappointment through to mid-2020 will enable him to continue leading the implementation of the Andrews Labor Government’s Sustainable Hunting Action Plan.

The plan includes promoting responsible hunting, improving hunting opportunities, and maximising the economic, environmental and social benefits of this popular recreation.

Victoria has more than 50,000 hunters who contribute an estimated $439 million into towns and regional centres across Victoria, supporting around 3,500 jobs.

Minister for Agriculture Jaala Pulford is currently seeking expressions of interest to fill the remaining positions on the Board from 1 July 2017. Applications for these positions close on Friday, 17 March.
