15 July 2015

More than $3 million will be spent developing tourism infrastructure to keep Victoria number one.

Tourism operators can now apply for Tourism Demand Driver Infrastructure grants of up to $750,000 through Tourism Victoria.

The Commonwealth Government grants, administered by Tourism Victoria, are available to develop infrastructure that promotes tourism and drives visitation.

The Minister for Tourism and Major Events, John Eren, said businesses, investors, local governments and tourism associations should consider applying for funding for projects that meet local priorities and keep Victoria’s visitation levels healthy.

Tourism is Victoria’s great strength. It contributes more than $20.6 billion to the state’s economy, and generates more than 200,000 jobs. Tourism is the lifeblood of communities across regional Victoria.

Applicants can apply for grants of between $250,000 and $750,000 and must match Commonwealth funding. For more information visit www.tourism.vic.gov.auExternal Link
