Airshow Showcases Victoria's Flying Spirit

24 February 2015

Minister for Industry, Lily D’Ambrosio, today launched the 12th Australian International Airshow at Avalon Airport.

From now until Sunday 1 March 2015, Avalon Airport will be home to an array of aircraft: airliners, fast jets, helicopters, maritime patrol aircraft, antique aircraft, gliders, and much more.

Four trade days will head the event, providing the opportunity to showcase Victoria’s world class capabilities in aviation, aerospace and defence to business and military representatives from around the world.

Ms D’Ambrosio also officially launched Victoria’s aviation and aerospace industry capability statement.

It is a comprehensive guide that highlights the credentials of Victorian aviation and aerospace companies and shows the Andrews Labor Government’s strong support for our state’s defence technology industry.

The guide will be available via the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources website: www.dsdbi.vic.gov.au/defenceExternal Link

The action-packed show opens to the public from 2pm on Friday 27 February and continues throughout the weekend.

The 2015 Airshow has special significance as it marks the Centenary of ANZAC.
