SHAPING THE FUTURE JOBS HUB IN FISHERMANS BEND
The Carroll Labor Government is inviting the community to help shape the future of Fishermans Bend's Employment and Innovation Area.
Minister for Housing, Building and Precincts Nick Staikos today announced the start of consultation on the draft Precinct Implementation Plan.
The Employment and Innovation Area is expected to support 40,000 jobs and become a leading hub for advanced manufacturing, engineering and design.
The draft plan sets out a vision for jobs, business growth, public spaces, transport connections and infrastructure through to 2055.
It includes plans for new streets, parks and public spaces, while protecting key freight routes and supporting future industry, education and research opportunities.
Construction is progressing on the $200 million Fishermans Bend Innovation Precinct, the $4.7 million Turner Street upgrade and expanded bus services across the precinct.
Almost $9 billion in private investment is in the pipeline, with around 4,700 homes already delivered or under construction.
The recently approved Development Contributions Plan will help fund the infrastructure needed to support continued growth.
Businesses and community members can view the draft plan, attend information sessions and provide feedback via the Engage Victoria website.
Consultation is now open until 3 November, with feedback helping shape the final plan.
