Victorian businesses and households are urged remember to bring their clocks forward this weekend when daylight saving begins on Sunday, 2 October.

At the same time, Victorians should use the opportunity to change the batteries in their smoke detectors and ensure other alarms and appliances are in proper working order.

The change in time will commence at 2am this coming Sunday, 2 October, when the clocks will be brought forward an hour to 3am.

This weekend will also see daylight saving commence in South Australia, Tasmania, New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.

Daylight saving will end on Sunday, 2 April, 2017.
