Labor is investing in better boating access to Lake Eildon – getting more locals out on the water for budget-friendly family fun.
Minister Dimopoulos today announced construction of the new $1.5 million Howqua Inlet boat ramp will start on Monday.
Once completed, the new Howqua Inlet ramp will boast a two-lane concrete surface, including parking.
The dual-lane concrete ramp will provide access to Lake Eildon above water levels of about 80 per cent.
It will include 18 parking spaces for cars with trailers and a vehicle turning apron to make backing down easier.
Lake Eildon is synonymous with recreational boating, and the Howqua ramp will provide yet another option for locals and holidaymakers.
Eildon continues to be Victoria’s most heavily stocked fishery, known for producing metre-long Murray cod as well as big trout and golden perch.
It’s also a great spot to waterski, wakeboard or tow a donut with the family.
Labor has invested in several ramps around Eildon, enabling maintenance and ensuring facilities are easy to use.
