Students at Orrvale, Kialla West, Bourchier Street and Mooroopna Park primary schools are a step closer to getting the facilities they need with new designs released for their upcoming major upgrades and modernisation projects.
The Minister for Education James Merlino today visited Orrvale Primary School to unveil the schematic designs of the new and renovated buildings across the four school sites.
Orrvale Primary School’s $1.7 million upgrade will see existing classrooms get a major facelift to bring them up to the highest modern standards, the renovation of the administration building and extensive refurbishment of the school’s library and STEM specialist centre, which also incorporates music and arts facilities.
Kialla West Primary School is set for a $955,000 major upgrade and modernisation project, while Bourchier Street Primary School has been allocated $1.4 million to demolish damaged classrooms and replace them with new flexible learning spaces.
Mooroopna Park Primary School will undergo $361,000 in works to upgrade two learning areas, as well as two classrooms.
The projects are part of a $2.5 billion investment by the Labor Government in the past three Budgets to improve classrooms, upgrade facilities and build new schools across the state.
This school building boom has delivered more than 1,200 school upgrades and 56 new school projects across the state, supporting almost 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians.
