A new interactive online resource, MyStory, will greatly enhance Victoria’s capacity to attract international students.

Minister for Training and Skills, Steve Herbert, and Minister for Small Business, Innovation and Trade, Adem Somyurek, today jointly launched Study Melbourne’s MyStory – an interactive tool for prospective international students and parents to virtually experience life in Victoria.

MyStory helps those considering studying abroad to explore the sights and sounds of Victoria, build their personalised story and share it with family and friends online.

Users navigate high quality video content to experience Victoria’s world leading institutions and support services along with modes of transport, accommodation options and our enviable lifestyle.

MyStory is designed to support students, parents and agents during the initial planning stages, all while showcasing Victoria as a premium destination for education, research and training.

The immersive site also includes a detailed information brochure which is set to be released in Arabic, Indonesian, Mandarin and Spanish in the coming months.

2014 Victorian International Education Awards winners feature throughout the online tool, offering prospective newcomers with a great first-hand experience and advice about studying and living in Victoria.

Melbourne and Victoria each year attract more than 150,000 international student enrolments. International education generated $4.71 billion in export earnings in 2013-14 and supports over 30,000 jobs, making it Victoria’s largest single export sector.
