New Green Rolled Out At Ivanhoe Bowling Club

30 October 2015

The Andrews Labor Government is helping the Ivanhoe Bowling Club to attract more members and grow.

Minister for Sport John Eren today joined Member for Ivanhoe Anthony Carbines to open the new artificial grass green at the popular club, made possible by a $50,000 Labor Government grant.

Grassroots sports clubs want modern facilities to cope with growing demand. Labor promised them, and is getting on with delivering them.

The Ivanhoe Bowling Club has been home to bowlers of all abilities for more than 100 years, but the old surface was struggling to cope. The Labor Government’s investment means the barefoot battlers and serious club competitors will have a place to play 12 months a year.

The Labor Government’s $100 million Community Sports Infrastructure Fund is replacing tired grounds with the facilities that local clubs need to grow.

The Government is also installing 1,000 life-saving defibrillators at grassroots clubs across Victoria, so that players and spectators can step in during an emergency until paramedics arrive.

The Ivanhoe Bowling Club upgrade was funded in partnership with the Ivanhoe Bowling Club.
