New Centre Of Excellence A Win For Bendigo TAFE

08 February 2017

A new Health and Community Centre of Excellence will help transform Bendigo Kangan Institute’s City Campus, with designs for the new complex released today.

The centre will help the TAFE boost its current delivery by giving locals access to more courses, modern equipment and stronger links to industry.

An existing building on the corner of Chapel and McCrae Streets will be refurbished and refitted to create the new Centre, thanks to $17.7 million in Victorian Government funding.

Another building on the site will be demolished to open up a new entrance for the Centre of Excellence with works to start this week.

In the last two years Bendigo Kangan has received $14.5 million from the TAFE Rescue Fund, $5.8 million from the TAFE Back to Work Fund and $1 million for Skills and Jobs Centres from the Andrews Labor Government.

The institute has also received more than $650,000 to buy a new Portable Emissions Measurement System which can be fitted to a vehicle to provide real world driving analysis of emissions.

The money will also allow the institute to purchase a new 3D digital printer which can scan and print body forms for its fashion courses.
