Labor is delivering new kinders for families across Victoria, in the places they’re needed most.
More than 1,000 new kindergarten places are on the way.
Minister Blandthorn today announced seven new early childhood projects.
Five kinders are coming to government schools, and two will open inside community hubs.
New kinders at government schools
New kinders will open at Edenhope College and at the future Thompson East Primary School in 2028.
Further kinders will open at Point Lonsdale Primary School, Banum Warrik Primary School and Maiden Gully Primary School in 2029.
Together, these five projects will create up to 591 new kindergarten places.
New kinders in community hubs
Bald Hill Community Centre will open in Beveridge in 2028, creating up to 237 kindergarten places.
The centre will also provide maternal and child health services, plus rooms for consulting and community use.
Riverwalk Community Centre in Werribee will offer maternal and child health services from late 2028, and kinder from Term 1 2029 with up to 178 places.
These two projects are the latest under Building Blocks Partnerships with Mitchell Shire and Wyndham City Council.
Labor is contributing $15.75 million to support construction and delivery of the two community centres.
Labor has entered 20 Building Blocks Partnerships across Victoria – supporting more than 120 new and expanded kindergartens.
We’re investing billions to build and expand kinders across the state backing 15 hours of Three-Year-Old Kinder by 2029, and 30 hours of Four-Year-Old Kinder by 2036.
