Planning Minister, Richard Wynne has released his assessment of the proposed Kilmore-Wallan Bypass together with the independent Inquiry Panel report on the project.
Mr Wynne’s assessment supports the findings of the Environmental Effects Statement Inquiry Report, which found that the western bypass route achieves the best balance of social, environmental and economic needs.
The Planning Minister’s assessment of the inquiry’s report is the final step in the Environmental Effects Statement process.
The Kilmore Wallan Bypass Environment Effects Statement was exhibited from 10 June to 21 July in 2014. It attracted 130 submissions.
Quotes attributable to Planning Minister, Richard Wynne
“The western alignment is the best route for a bypass that will get trucks off the roads in Kilmore and Wallan with the least impact on the environment and heritage of the region.”
