Last evening the Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism, Major Events and Regional Victoria, Danielle Green launched the Heartbeat of the Murray Experience at Swan Hill.
The Heartbeat of the Murray is an exciting new night-time entertainment experience on the banks of the Little Murray which uses water and laser lighting to recreate stories from the Murray River region.
The project will also use digital reality to breathe life into existing displays.
Visitors will be able to use their smartphones and devices to visually interpret the lives and experiences of our pioneers as they tour the Settlement’s buildings and machinery.
The $3.85 million Heartbeat of the Murray Experience will help to increase the numbers of visitor to Swan Hill, and deliver new economic development opportunities for businesses in the area.
Upgrades to existing infrastructure, including the ParagonCafé and Lower Murray Inn have also been completed as part of this project.
Tourism is a significant industry in Swan Hill, employing about 5 per cent of the local workforce.
Through investment in key infrastructure projects, the Victorian Government will continue to put rural and regional communities back at the heart of the state’s economy.
