The Andrews Labor Government is providing more than $3.85 million to fund building works and other projects at CFA brigades across Victoria.
Minister for Emergency Services, Jane Garrett, said that the funding for 3 new CFA stations and upgrades to a further 5, will provide a major improvement for firefighters and local communities that are at significant risk of fires.
New fire stations will be built in Walmer and Earlston as well as upgraded facilities for the Barjang, Kyneton, Narre Warren, Yeungroon, Frankston and Welshpool brigades.
The new and renovated stations will provide improved bases for CFA members to work from as well as more modern facilities.
The Labor Government will also give $600,000 to Skye CFA to secure land for a new fire station, and Montrose and Olinda CFA will receive $30,000 each to buy power generators, an essential tool in an emergency where the power goes out.
