Labor is delivering the historic NFL Melbourne Game to Victoria – with an epic halftime performance showcasing the state to tens of millions of global viewers.
Global superstars the Jonas Brothers will headline the NFL halftime show on Friday 11 September.
They join a list of global superstars such as Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and AC/DC to perform at the MCG.
The halftime performance will be part of a history-making day with Melbourne becoming the first city in the world to host an NFL Regular Season Game, a Formula 1 Grand Prix and a tennis Grand Slam.
The performance will captivate a packed MCG crowd and reach a global audience from more than 200 countries.
Almost 50 per cent of spectators at the MCG are expected to be from interstate or overseas with fans from more than 35 countries buying tickets to the game.
According to CoStar, September is on track to be a record month for hotel demand in Melbourne, with CBD hotel occupancy up 39 percentage points for the night of the game.
The United States is a priority for Visit Victoria, with 215,000 visitors who spent $430 million in our state last year.
Game week is also attracting world-class business conferences to Victoria including SportNXT, the Intersekt Fintech Festival, Data Center World and The AI Summit Australia.
Victorian companies will build international partnerships and strengthen ties with global markets.
