I'm sick of the Liberals attacking penalty rates and I'm sick of the Liberals attacking public holidays.

Before Grand Final Friday kicked off, there was no real long weekend in this half of the year.

Hardworking Victorians and their families deserve a bit of relief – and what better time than the weekend of our greatest sporting spectacle.

Last year's holiday was a massive success. Tourism boomed across the city and the regions. The parade was the biggest on record – and if the crowds we've seen today are anything to go by, this year will be no different.
