The Labor Government has reached agreement with the ASH shareholders to buy the Heyfield Timber Mill.
Both parties have come to an in-principle agreement on the sale of the Mill, subject to due diligence checks.
We’ve always said we would fight for every job.
That doesn’t mean industries won’t change – but Victorian workers can know that this Labor Government is on their side.
Because good, secure work is the backbone of every town, every community, and every family.
Importantly, the Hermal Group has confirmed there will be no job losses while contractual negotiations are finalised.
We will continue to be with the Heyfield community every step of the way.
We look forward to the successful conclusion of the sale process.
