Have Your Say On Final Design For Tramways Expansion

22 October 2021

The Bendigo community is being given another opportunity to provide feedback on the final concept design for the Bendigo Tramways expansion.

The $10.7 million project is being delivered by the Victorian Government in partnership with the City of Greater Bendigo and Bendigo Heritage Attractions, to create additional storage space and deliver upgraded workshop equipment to restore heritage rolling stock.

The expansion will also enable Bendigo Tramways to increase the number of trams they restore, creating more jobs and generating economic activity in Central Victoria.

Earlier in the year, a high-level concept design for the expansion was presented to the community for discussion on key features of the site, including the location of storage sheds.

This feedback led to the design being further refined, with locals now again being asked to provide their input, particularly on the new storage facilities and how construction impacts can be minimised.

Community members can have their say on the final concept design by completing an online survey on the VicTrack website victrack.com.au/bendigotramways before 5pm on Friday, 5 November.

Works on the project are set to get underway in early 2022.
