Have Your Say On Drysdale Bypass Plans

31 March 2015

Labor Member for Bellarine, Lisa Neville, is inviting locals to have their say and receive an update on plans for the Drysdale Bypass.

VicRoads are holding drop-in consultation sessions in April where local residents can see the latest plans and options for the Drysdale Bypass, as well as provide input about key features of the project such as intersections and improvements to High Street in Drysdale.

Community consultation sessions will be held in:

  • Drysdale on Wednesday 15 April between 3pm and 7pm at the Springdale Neighbourhood Centre, 17-21 High Street, Drysdale
  • Portarlington on Wednesday 22 April between 3.30pm and 7pm at the Portarlington Neighbourhood House, 28 Brown Street, Portarlington.

The $109 million project will reduce congestion and improve the amenity of High Street by reducing noise, making it safer for road users and pedestrians and making it easier to park.

The bypass will also reduce the numbers of trucks and heavy vehicles by provide an alternate and more efficient route which will divert them from the centre of town.

VicRoads’ engineers are currently investigating potential impacts on the environment and will be completing a range of other studies including cultural heritage, social, economic, land use planning, ecology and traffic.

If you are unable to attend the drop-in sessions, further information and a community survey will be available on the VicRoads website at Link
