Students in Monbulk will have the modern classrooms and school facilities they need to get the great education they deserve, thanks to a major upgrade by the Andrews Labor Government.
Minister for Education James Merlino today announced Monbulk College will get $8.5 million in the Victorian Budget 2018/19 to deliver Stage 3 of its existing upgrade.
This includes construction of new classrooms, new specialist arts and fabrics spaces, and a new canteen and home economic building.
The school oval will also be upgraded, including improvements to its surface and lighting that will enable Monbulk College to enter into community partnerships with organisations such as the Monbulk Football and Netball Club.
Work is already underway on Stages 1 and 2 of the upgrade, which includes building a new library and modern information, communication and technology learning spaces.
The new funding comes on top of $10.5 million already provided to the school for Stages 1 and 2 of its upgrade.
Architects Vincent Chrisp Architects designed the upgrade, with Lloyd Group building it.
Stages 1 and 2 are on track to be completed in 2019, with the new Stage 3 expected to be completed in 2020.
The Labor Government is building the Education State so every Victorian student can receive a great education and every community has access to a great local school.

This school building boom has delivered more than 1,200 school upgrades and 64 new school projects across the state, supporting more than 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians.
