Every student deserves the chance to reach their full potential – no matter where they live.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Education Ben Carroll today announced a $75.1 million Labor investment in free enrichment and extension opportunities for Victoria's brightest public school students.
Victorian students are already achieving the strongest NAPLAN outcomes in the country.
This investment makes sure Victoria's brightest students keep getting the opportunities they need to go even further.
The investment delivers 75,000 places in the Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Series for students from Prep to Year 10 and up to 48,000 places in the Victorian High Ability Program for Years 5 to 8, over the next four years.
Labor is also delivering Maths Camps this year.
These five-day programs give high-ability Year 9 and 10 students access to mathematics enrichment with priority given to rural, regional and disadvantaged students.
The investment will support the high ability practice leaders in every public primary and secondary school – creating stimulating environments within and beyond the classroom.
Victoria's four Selective Entry High Schools alongside the John Monash Science School and the Centre for Higher Education Studies provide dedicated settings for high-ability students in the government system.
The Koorie Academy of Excellence continues to provide out-of-school hours enrichment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
More than 315,000 students have benefited from Labor's $230.5 million investment in the Student Excellence Program since 2020.
Only Labor backs every student – no matter their postcode or background.
