The Allan Labor Government is helping apprentices save more than $59 million on their rego.
Since the Trade Apprentice Registration Discount scheme launched, more than 60,000 free registrations have been issued – saving apprentices up to $930 every year.
More than 22,000 apprentices and trainees have benefited from the program so far.
The scheme supports apprentices who rely on their vehicle to get to work, training and job sites.
This includes apprentices who carry tools for work or travel during overnight hours.
The program is helping ease cost of living pressures while supporting the next generation of skilled workers.
This support comes on top of Labor’s upcoming rego rebate for eligible Victorian motorists.
From 1 June, vehicle owners will be able to apply for 20 per cent off their rego through the Service Victoria website.
Applications will be open until 31 July – so you have two months to claim the rebate.
The rebate will refund you back 20 per cent of your registration payment for 2025/26.
It will be open to Victorians who own light vehicles for personal use: cars, utes, and anything under 4.5 tonnes.
Together, these initiatives are helping put more money back into the pockets of hardworking Victorians.
Eligible apprentices can apply through the myVicRoads portal here: vicroads.vic.gov.au.
