The Andrews Labor Government is helping jobseekers find and keep a job thanks to the Jobs Victoria program.

Parliamentary Secretary for Industry and Employment Vikki Ward joined Jobs Victoria Partner Westgate Community Initiatives Group in Doncaster today to officially launch its latest employment program.

east@work has already placed more than 90 long-term jobseekers into work, with around 230 jobseekers registering with the service.

The east@work service offers recruitment and workforce planning for employers, as well as assistance for long-term jobseekers including helping them get job ready, and offering on-going support once working.

It builds on the success of Westgate’s west@work service, which placed more than 300 jobseekers across Melbourne’s west into jobs in a range of industries, from construction and logistics to the health sector.

This is just one service provided under the Labor Government’s $68 million Jobs Victoria initiative, which offers tailored services to support and connect jobseekers who face barriers to work with supportive employers.

Jobs Victoria has placed more than 5,200 long-term jobseekers into work since the program started. For more information, visit www.jobs.vic.gov.au
