Minister for Education, James Merlino, joined students at Quantum Victoria today to officially launch Education Week 2015.
Education Week (May 17-23) is a week-long celebration of Victorian school education, which marks its 71st anniversary this year.
During the Week, hundreds of schools and early years education providers will open their doors to the community to showcase how they are helping every child reach his or her full potential.
In keeping with the theme of Education Week 2015 – ‘Crack the Code with Maths’ – Mr Merlino also launched Quantum Victoria’s 3D Print-A-Car Challenge.
The Challenge provides students from Victorian Government schools with an opportunity to design, create and print a car that can be raced on a 20m racing track at Quantum Victoria.
On August 20, Quantum Victoria will host a state-wide event where student teams will compete for a place in the car race finals to be held at the University of Melbourne on October 9 as part of the 3D Printing Showcase - which brings together students, teachers, university and industry representatives.
