The Digital Marketplace is making it easier to work with the Allan Labor Government, with over 1,000 businesses now using the virtual platform to respond to requests for work.
Minister for Government Services Gabrielle Williams today announced the Digital Marketplace now includes the eServices Register – the largest register in Victoria for information technology (IT) goods and services.
The new register combines the previously separate eServices and IT infrastructure registers and lists over 1,000 businesses providing IT infrastructure products and services.
The Marketplace makes it easier for government buyers to identify businesses by capability and region, as well as certified social enterprises and Aboriginal-owned businesses – supporting the continued progress of the Government’s Social Procurement Framework.
IT businesses can access the Digital Marketplace by visiting the Buying for Victoria website and registering their details on the Supplier Hub. Businesses from other industries are expected to join the Marketplace later this year.
Registration only takes businesses 15 minutes to complete and less than a day to process, making it quick and easy to access requests for work from the Government.
Once an IT business has successfully registered their details, insurances, and certificates on Supplier Hub, they can apply to link their profile to the eServices Register on the Marketplace.
The Victorian tech sector contributes more than $38 billion to the state’s economy and supports almost 140,000 workers across 20,000 businesses.
