Congratulations to Mums Supporting Families In Need, the winners of the Meet the Premier competition! I had the pleasure of visiting them today down in Seaford.

This group does wonderful work providing quality second-hand essentials for kids to families in crisis. As you can see from these photos, there's a lot of sorting and organising to be done!

They do it with the help of many dedicated volunteers. Volunteers like Jean, who I spoke to.

Jean has lived in the Carrum Downs area for over 10 years, and works part time as a caterer in nursing homes. She takes great pride in her community, and always looks to give back and support people who do it tough.

A little over a year ago, Jean saw the purple volunteers wanted sign on the notice board at Frankston library and got in touch with MSFIN. She now volunteers three days a week in the warehouse, and loves working with kids on her days off as well as the elderly at work.

Hearing the story of great volunteers like Jean makes me even more proud to announce that MSFIN will receive a $10k community grant to help with their valuable work.

A big thank you to Jodie, Donna, and all the volunteers like Jean who give so much to make Victoria a better place

You can read more about MSFIN at http://www.msfin.org.au/ or on Mummies and Babes in need on Facebook, and if you're interested and in the area, do get in touch with them!
