The top performers from Victoria’s 2024 VCE cohort have been honoured at the Premiers’ VCE Awards, recognising outstanding academic and vocational achievement across the state.
Premier Jacinta Allan and Deputy Premier and Minister for Education Ben Carroll presented the awards at a special ceremony at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, celebrating students from both the VCE and the new VCE Vocational Major (VM).
Awards are presented to students achieving high study scores in VCE subjects, and those achieving excellence in the VCE Vocational Major.
The Vocational Major was introduced in 2023 as a dedicated, hands-on program within the VCE. In 2024, more than 8,290 students completed the VCE VM – showcasing growing demand for career-focused learning that still delivers academic excellence.
Award recipients include a talented young composer who will study in the USA, a VCE VM student hoping to launch his own fashion label and an Arts student aiming for a career in international relations or diplomacy – showcasing the diverse and ambitious futures being shaped in the education state.
A total of 315 students received 339 awards across 94 subjects, including 276 Study Awards, 23 Top All-Round VCE High Achiever Awards, seven Outstanding VCE Vocational Major Students and three Top International Student Awards.
The 23 Top All-Round VCE High Achievers are students who achieved study scores of 46 or higher out of 50 in at least five VCE subjects, while Study Awards recognise the best performers in individual VCE subjects.
