Minister for Agriculture, Jaala Pulford, is now seeking expressions of interest for the positions of chairperson for both the PrimeSafe and Dairy Food Safety Victoria Boards.
Dairy Food Safety Victoria and PrimeSafe are the independent regulators of the Victorian dairy, meat and seafood industries responsible for ensuring that national food safety standards are met.
They license producers, processors, manufacturers and distributors in their respective industries, and play an important role in safeguarding Victoria’s food safety system and growing market access opportunities.
The chairpersons will operate in a dynamic and evolving environment, ensuring industry compliance with Australian food safety standards to provide safe, wholesome produce for all consumers.
Those with relevant experience on a Board or committee, with demonstrated skills in governance and regulation, an ability to work collaboratively with government and respond to ministerial statements of expectations are encouraged to apply.
Key requirements include a highly successful track record in leadership and the ability to be the public face of a regulator. Strong networks and experience within the dairy, meat, poultry and seafood industries will also be an important asset.
In line with the Andrews Labor Government’s commitment to appoint 50 per cent of women to Victorian boards, the Minister is encouraging women to apply.
