The Allan Labor Government is getting on with building more homes for families who need it most, including a new development in Bendigo.
The Labor Government’s $9.7 million project will deliver 19 two-storey townhouses in Eaglehawk, with works expected to begin early next year and be completed in 2027.
The new two- and three-bedroom homes will be modern and energy efficient, meaning renters will be able to stay warm in winter and cool in summer.
It is part of the Government’s landmark investment to build social and affordable housing across Victoria and get more people into safe and secure homes.
The Government's $6.3 billion Big Housing Build and Regional Housing Fund is delivering more than 13,300 social and affordable homes across Victoria – with more than 10,100 homes complete or underway.
Of this, $2.25 billion is being invested into regional Victoria to ensure the benefits are shared in every corner of the state, with more than 3,900 homes completed or underway.
In Greater Bendigo more than $150 million has been invested in the area through the Big Housing Build and other social housing programs, to build 374 new homes with more than 150 of these already completed.
