Minister for Education James Merlino and Member for Bellarine Lisa Neville today visited the school to discuss plans for the project with staff and students.
Mr Merlino and Ms Neville inspected designs for the project, which will provide new classrooms while maintaining the heritage value of the 130-year old central administration building.
Patrick Architects has designed the state of the art new learning centre. A builder is expected to be appointed by October, with construction to start immediately and the project on track to be finished by late 2017.
The Andrews Labor Government invested a record $1.1 billion to build new schools and upgrade classrooms across the state in the Victorian Budget 2016/17, including $200 million to better maintain existing school facilities.
The Labor Government is building the Education State so that every student gets the opportunity for a great education and every community has access to a great school.
