Labor is making life easier for Victorians doing it tough – with more help, in more communities.
The Victorian Budget 26/27 is investing $2.3 million to expand Bring Your Bills Day.
Developed by South East Community Links in collaboration with organisations across the financial, legal, utility and government sectors, the program provides practical, in-person support on issues like:
- Unpaid bills and debt
- Fines and credit cards
- Mortgages and personal loans
- Centrelink and government services
- Housing and tenancy rights
- Consumer rights and legal issues.
This funding will deliver more events, community information sessions and support services right across Victoria.
At a single Bring Your Bills event in Hampton Park, at least $3 million in debt and savings was supported in one day.
Only Labor has new solutions to make life easier, safer and more affordable.
Quotes attributable to Minister for Consumer Affairs Paul Edbrooke
"At a single event, families walked away millions in debt sorted and savings found – that's what real help looks like."
"Labor is investing in financial counselling – do the Liberals support it, or will they cut it?"
