Better School Facilities For Whittington Students

01 August 2019

Students in Whittington Primary School are getting the best out of their education in the state-of-the-art school facilities they deserve, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Minister for Education James Merlino and Member for Geelong Chris Couzens today visited Whittington Primary School to officially open its $6.6 million new facilities.

The school rebuild project included the construction of modern flexible classrooms, art room, music room and gym – giving students more opportunities to pursue their passion in the arts and explore their sporting abilities.

It also includes new administration facilities and a centrally landscaped courtyard.

The school regeneration project was designed by 3iD Architecture and the project was built by Rendine Constructions.

This upgrade is part of the Labor Government’s massive investment of $5.6 billion to deliver more than 1,400 school upgrades, supporting over 7,500 construction jobs for Victorians.

100 new schools will open by 2026 under the Labor Government’s school building boom, ensuring every child has a great local school and a great start in life.

The Labor Government is building the Education State so that every student can access a great local school and get a great education.
