The Allan Labor Government’s transformation of the Bendigo Health precinct is now complete.
Premier and Member for Bendigo East Jacinta Allan and Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards today officially opened the hospital’s new green space.
The opening marks the final stage of the Bendigo Health Clinical Services campus.
The $63.5 million project is already delivering better care to the community at the state-of-the-art Day Rehabilitation Centre.
Following the demolition of old east and north wing towers, a new 4,000 square metre green space has been created.
Featuring more than 1,500 new native plants and trees and a large English elm tree saved throughout the works – it’ll provide a peaceful place for patients, visitors, workforce and the community for years to come.
The Clinical Services Campus – opened in 2024 – brought a range of critical services together into the Day Rehabilitation Centre.
It includes a hydrotherapy pool and specialist clinics like outpatient rehabilitation, allied health, dental, mental health, renal dialysis, breast screening and diabetes education.
With all services now under one roof, allied health professionals are benefiting from working closely together – improving health outcomes for their patients to prevent future hospital admissions.
The project builds on the Labor Government’s $630 million Bendigo Hospital redevelopment opened in 2018.
