Today marks one year since an unspeakable act of evil took place in the heart of our city.
Six people lost their lives, dozens were injured and hundreds more bore witness to the carnage.
Today, and every day, we remember them and we stand with those who love them.
We also honour the ordinary Victorians - the everyday heroes - who rushed to the aid of others.
And we thank our paramedics, police and firefighters - those professionals who without a moment’s hesitation launched into action.
On that day, in the very worst of circumstances, we saw the very best of the Victorian spirit.
And while our city and state will never be the same again, we won’t let this tragedy define us.
