Labor has delivered on its commitment to open 20 free Women’s Health Clinics right across Victoria.

Minister for Health Ingrid Stitt today officially opened the Heidelberg Women’s Health Clinic – the final clinic in the statewide network.

The clinic brings together the expertise of Austin Health and Mercy Hospital for Women.

The health services will provide coordinated specialist care for women across Melbourne’s north-east.

Women can get help for a range of concerns and conditions under the one roof, including:

  • endometriosis
  • pelvic pain
  • heavy and painful periods
  • menopause
  • incontinence
  • contraception and abortion care.

Care is delivered by a team of gynaecologists, specialist nurses and allied health professionals.

Austin Health will provide contraception and abortion care.

While the Mercy will support women living with persistent pelvic pain and endometriosis.

For too long, women have put up with pain, struggled to find answers or put off seeing a specialist due to the cost.

These clinics are helping change that.

Since rolling out, more than 17,500 women have already accessed free specialist care across the statewide network.

The final clinics to open include locations in Ararat, Bacchus Marsh and Sandringham.

The 20 Women’s Health Clinics are part of the Carroll Labor Government’s $153 million women’s health package.

It is delivering on recommendations from Victoria's Inquiry into Women's Pain.

The Inquiry heard from 13,000 women who said they frequently felt unheard or had their pain dismissed.

Labor is changing that – delivering better care, earlier support and more services designed around women's needs.

With a $40 billion cuts plan, Jess Wilson’s Liberal-One Nation Coalition will put this all at risk if given the chance.

Women cannot afford to a government who would Americanise the health system and put their care at risk.
